Suan Son Pradiphat beach, Hua Hin – visitor guide

Updated |Editorial policy

A quiet, pine-lined beach run by the army just south of Hua Hin. How to visit Suan Son Pradiphat and what to expect.

Suan Son Pradiphat is a long, quiet beach lined with casuarina trees, about 10 km south of central Hua Hin, beyond Khao Takiab. The land belongs to the Royal Thai Army, which manages the beach and a small number of bungalows. It is popular with Thai families looking for a calmer alternative to Hua Hin’s main beach.

What to expect

  • Shady picnic areas under the trees, simple restaurants and deckchair rental.
  • A wide, gently sloping beach with relatively calm water outside the windy months.
  • Fewer vendors and less development than Hua Hin beach.

Visiting

The beach is reached by car or taxi from Hua Hin. Entry is through a checkpoint, and opening arrangements can change, so check locally before you go. Weekdays are quietest.

Where to stay

Most visitors stay in Hua Hin or Khao Takiab. See our Hua Hin guide for the different areas.
