The Peninsula Bangkok – hotel profile
A riverside tower hotel on the Thonburi bank with views across the Chao Phraya. Location, boat shuttle and what is nearby.
The Peninsula Bangkok rises from the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya River, in Khlong San district. It opened in 1998, and its tall, W-shaped tower is designed so that rooms look out over the river towards the skyline of Silom and Charoen Krung.
Location
- On the Thonburi side of the river, opposite the Mandarin Oriental and Charoen Krung.
- The hotel’s own shuttle boats cross the river to its pier near Saphan Taksin BTS station and Sathorn pier.
- The ICONSIAM shopping complex is a short distance upriver.
Facilities
The hotel has a long, tiered riverside swimming pool, a spa and several restaurants, including Thai and Cantonese dining. As with most hotels on this side of the river, the boat shuttle is the easiest way to reach the BTS and the rest of the city.
Who it suits
Couples and families who want river views and resort-style space in the city, and who are happy to use boats to get around. See our Bangkok riverside guide.
